Who is Andy Leaning
I’m technologist living in Romney Marsh, South Kent, England where I live with my beautiful partner (Bev) and her two children and our five cats. I make a living from designing, building and maintaining websites and in particular the “plumbing” behind large scale publishing and ecommerce websites.
I’m also an unofficial evangelist and historian of Romney Marsh in Kent, on a mission to find my two little boys (Ethan Leaning and Daniel Leaning) after my former wife absconded with them without warning in 2011 and a keep fit nut.
More facts about Andy
- I’m a massive fan of science fiction – Stargate, Startrek, anything with ‘star’ in it will probably get my attention.
- Despite loving technology, I’m a huge reader of books and have a substantial library. I like nothing better than rummaging through the shelves of dusty second hand book shops.
- Although always a “geek”, I’ve also worked in marketing, PR and journalism roles and was previously a magazine Editor.
- My first computer was a binary calculator, my first real computer was a Sinclair ZX80.
Hobbies includes tracing family history; cycling and running; documenting the fasincinating history of the Romney Marshes, travelling and running a string of websites (notably Personal Trainer Training which helps people wanting to know how to become a personal trainer and personal trainer certifications and diy private investigations to assist people in carrying out their own investigations) to improve my knowledge of CMS, SEO, web and Internet technologies.
